SHELLY KNOTTS

Shelly will be mistranslating musical thought into computer code, embracing a layer of unpredictability and failure as part of the thought-action-sound feedback loop. Shelly is a data-musician who performs internationally with computers and other humans.

CALLAN

Callan first took shape in 2005 during a short tour of Scotland’s Western Isles, whilst DJing in out-of-the-way places with bare bones kit, and the name itself stems from the Scots-Gaelic for ‘noise’ or ‘clamour’. Having relocated to Sweden and then Poland soon afterwards, the return to Newcastle upon Tyne in 2010 saw Callan exhumed, along with the murmurings of awkwardly bonny sound you might hear today or the next day. The current set-up generally consists of little more than a portable turntable, an effects pedal and some iffy cables, and has featured at events as wide-ranging as those of Subterranean, A Better Noise, GNAW and Tusk Mini, as well as the Hauskonzert series.

RHODRI DAVIES

Rhodri Davies plays harp, electric harp, live-electronics and builds wind, water, ice, dry ice and fire harp installations. He has released four solo albums: Trem, Over Shadows, Wound Response and An Air Swept Clean of All Distance.

His regular groups include: a duo with John Butcher, Cranc, HEN OGLEDD with Richard Dawson and Common Objects. He has performed, recorded or collaborated with the following artists: Derek Bailey, Laura Cannell, Jenny Hval, C Joynes, Kahimi Karie, Okkyung Lee, Phill Niblock, Jim O’Rourke, Bill Orcutt, Ben Patterson, Eliane Radigue, Otomo Yoshihide and John Zorn.
